Xenia, the Greene County seat about 15 miles east of Dayton, takes its name from the Greek word for hospitality. The city rebuilt after a devastating tornado in 1974 and is now known as a hub for the Miami Valley's paved bike trails. The Greene County Courthouse on North Detroit Street was designed by Samuel Hannaford and Sons and completed in 1902.
